The Baltimore Development Corp. has picked four development teams to revitalize five sites in the Fairfield section of the city.

The teams include Fleet Properties III LLC, Baltimore Scrap Corp., Chesapeake Real Estate Group LLC, and Allied Contractors Inc.

Both Fleet Properties and Baltimore Scrap plan to expand their existing businesses. Chesapeake Real Estate Group is gearing up to redevelop its portion into 350,000 square feet of industrial space.

And, Allied Contractors intends to relocate and develop a new storage yard and equipment repair facility.

The Fairfield urban renewal area is a rounded peninsula about 10 minutes south of downtown Baltimore. It is considered one of the prime industrial areas of the city, but is in need of some redevelopment.
